Keeping Fur Babies Calm And Safe On The 4th Of July

My heart goes out to my fur babies every 4th of July. From time to time there are things that scare our dogs and cats but whether it is the 4th of July or the Fireworks from the Baseball game a couple miles from our house it literally sends a shear panic through their little furry bodies. They have such heighted senses of hearing and smell that fireworks are terrifying for them.

We have always kept our fur babies inside especially on the fourth of July. We encourage them to jump up on sofa and snuggle in and watch TV. Yes, Duke our cattle dog is a TV watcher. It's funny when he was younger, he would growl or bark at animals. Now he reacts to people. It is hilarious.

The best thing to do is keep them inside. If you have friends over and are BBQing, you may want to put them in a bedroom so that they don't accidentally slip out a door, or bolt and get out of the yard. Be sure they have an ID on their collar or harness so they can be returned if they get loose. We all know how fast they can run and how far away those legs will take them when they are scared.

Celebrate with your fur babies. Our dogs love their 8 Paw Fur Boys Pet Treat DIY Ice Cream. Favorite flavor right now in the heat is the peanut butter. Treat your Fur Baby to something special that gives them comfort. It could be their favorite treat or toy. Engage with them and keeping them entertained during the fireworks may ease the affect the loud noises and booms have on them.

Most of all enjoy your Fur Babies on the 4th of July. Keep them close, comfortable and loved.

Happy 4th of July
